An Ohio power plant replaced asbestos breech packing on Bailey feedwater regulators with Style 5000: Operating pressure 2400 psi at 10000F. A Pennsylvania power station is using Style 5000 on various extraction steam check valves. Operability has been dramatically improved. Another Pennsylvania power plant packed a boiler circulating water pump discharge valve (Edwards) with Style 5000 with excellent results. A Northeastern power utility packed a soot blower regulator valve (Yarway) with Style 5000, no other packing has been able to last a month. Style 5000 has been in service for 6 months. Operating pressure 4250 psi at 10050F. A Tennessee power station is using Style 5000 as containment rings on a Sultzer valve with a dramatic improvement in packing performance and life. Two different power stations are in their first run with Style 5000 on boiler feed pumps. While both plants had previously had little success, Style 5000 is providing outstanding performance.
